POSTPARTUM CARE

BirthWorx offers comprehensive postpartum medical care in the comfort of your own home with Registered Midwives. We believe every person should have access to personalized postpartum care and support regardless of who their prenatal care provider is!

Care starts with us when you are discharged from the hospital after birth and continues until 6 weeks postpartum. At each homevisit, we spend 1 to 2 hours completing a full assessment of you and baby to ensure you are both recovering well and thriving. We provide personalized feeding advice, mental health support, parenting education and take the time to answer all your questions. If challenges or concerns arise, we are always available to you and are able to quickly and thoroughly develop a plan. No more waiting on hold to speak to a general nurse or waiting several days to see your family doctor! We are always just on the other end of the phone..

Our goal is to provide all of your care in your own home so you don't have to worry about going out for additional visits in the community while you should be resting. Often new parents are surprised to find out that many additional trips out of the house may be required if you or baby need extra support with challenges such as jaundice or breastfeeding. We can typically offer homecare for nearly all of these situations.

If you are under the care of an obstetrician or family physician for your pregnancy and want to learn more about postpartum midwifery care, we would love to chat about how we can support your postpartum journey!
