CHOICE OF BIRTHPLACE
Registered Midwives respect the client's right to choose where they give birth and support births in homes, hospitals, and birth centres. In Calgary, Midwives have admitting privileges at all the local hospitals.
CONTINUITY OF CARE
Clients are cared for by small groups of Midwives to help develop a relationship of trust. This continuity follows through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

Registered Midwives are primary health care providers and their services are fully covered under Alberta Health Services from conception to 6 weeks postpartum.

Registered Midwives offer informed choice and recognize the right of each person to be the primary decision maker in their own care.
